The Missionary Depot is an exchange blog site with a goal of helping various missionaries meet their financial needs so that they can fullfill what the Lord has set out for them to do. Many of these missionaries will be networked together here on this page so that their progress can be followed and their stories of hope can be shared with everyone.

On My Way
I’m finally making this wonderful spiritual journey to the Dominican Republic. I never thought I would be doing something like this, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these poor, beautiful children. As the plane lifted into the sky it made me recall all the times I’ve flown before to different places but never knowing where I was going really. I was always fearless and when it came to doing what I thought I wanted, nothing could stop me. Like a plane taking off in turbulent weather, my start in adulthood was extremely shaky and scary. Everything was dark and foreboding but still I made it through for this very reason, to live my life for Christ. I know now everything I have been through was preparing me and all part of a greater journey in my life. Sitting in this plane makes me grateful for the many second chances God has given me. I knew all along He was calling out to me but I just ignored Him because I never thought myself worthy or capable of being His disciple. After going through so many different difficulties, making so many mistakes I have learned the most important thing: hope gets you back up. Just having the slightest bit of hope always keeps me going. Having hope in God gets me through anything! One of the challenges in my life was having Scleroderma. When it was at its worse I thought I wouldn’t be able to enjoy a normal life let alone travel to another country!!! Having to be on oxygen is always very frustrating for so many reasons. I wasn’t able to take my portable tank for this trip and I’m glad I didn’t. I can’t stand lugging it around and being stared at. So I’m going on this trip with only my faith and my trust in God. Yes I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! No matter how tired I get I know He will carry me through it all. Giving my life to Jesus has been the best decision I have ever made. When I was younger and completely immature I wanted to do it all, travel, see new and exciting places, have amazing experiences but my way. I was able to do all that but I have a feeling it will not be anything like what’s about to happen this week. This is only the beginning! I am going to stay close to the Lord and let him take me wherever He needs me to go.

Passport is on its way!
Just went to get my passport on Tuesday!! More and more, this trip is starting to become a reality. God willing we will go to the D. R. in July and teach His Love and Word to about 600 kiddies! It seems a bit overwhelming but I know we can do it. With our Faith in God, help from our families and friends, this mission trip will happen. I still have around $500 left to save up for my ticket and expenses. The rest of our church members may need more. This Saturday we're having a Movie Night fundraiser as well as selling food every Sunday after church. We are planning more fundraisers in the next few months. I have my own paypal set up to accept donations if you are compelled to help me and if you would like to make donations for the rest of the members going on the trip, you can go to the church site puertaderestauracion.com and click donate. If you don't have a paypal account you can click here to take you to the c.c. donation site. Even if all you can give is a $1 anything will help! :) Please be a blessing to our children's ministry by helping out and if you would like to learn more about our trip feel free to leave us your email. Thank you for your support! May God Bless and Keep you!

Bringing the Gospel to the children of the Dominican Republic!
Well I suppose it's my turn to do some traveling to share the "Good News"! :D I never thought I would be leaving my beloved country (U.S.) to spread the Gospel. Initially I thought I was just going to sit here in the comfort of my own home and try (what I thought) was my best to help others go on these amazing missionary trips. God has called me to help my church's (Restoration Door Church) kids ministry go to the Dominican Republic to help teach a VBS (vacation Bible school) at our Pastor's mother's church. This will only be my 3rd time teaching, my first time was last summer and I will be teaching again at my church this summer before we go to the D.R. I still need lots of work on my Spanish and although I feel like I'm still learning the Gospel myself, I know God will show me the way. I would like to ask anyone that's reading this blog to keep us in your prayers and if there is any way possible to send donations to our church. With God's guidance I will try to figure out a reliable and safe way to make sure your donations get into the right hands so we can make this trip a success. I plan to take lots of pictures and keep as much as I can posted until the trip and when I get back. I don't think they have internet there. :( Which is even better because I will see what it's like to be around REAL people and not just stuck behind a computer screen all day! ^^ Thank you for any support. May God Bless and Keep You!
