Hi friends and family!
I hope all is well on your end. Nature here in Garden Valley is definitely showing that it's spring time. The pollen is everywhere! All the cars have turned green because of it. For the first time in my life these past couple of weeks I had allergy symptoms that made my head feel like a balloon. I feel like I can sympathize with my allergy-suffering friends much more than before.
I want to update you all about what I've been learning. The big tidal waves of what I'm learning have definitely been overwhelming at times. It's been a bit emotionally stretching to learn how to live a life of service daily rather than seeking to be served, but God has still been faithful to guide me through all the uncomfortable situations and challenges. He has shown me the truth of this verse: You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you (Isaiah 26:3.) He has been so good to show me that I don't need to worry or be afraid of what's going to happen tomorrow or in the future because if I trust Him. He as a good Dad and Shepherd will be sure to guide me in the right direction.
As the days and weeks go by I find myself reflecting on the time I've been here and what God has taught me. I reflect also on the things that could've been done better on my part and the times I didn't listen to His voice. Reflecting is bitter-sweet. Even more knowing that I might not be here too much longer. This has been a safe "green house" for my faith to grow stronger and it's so wierd to think that I won't be in it any more. That the Lord wants to take me to a different place. Those details aren't all worked out just yet so I ask for your prayers on what that is going to look like.
It's been on my heart to be in touch with all of you since I've been here, but it's been a bit difficult to keep in contact on my end. Not because of a lack of there being a way to because I have a phone, internet, and things needed to communicate. There’s a lack of time due to a busy schedule. But I do admit that some times I don't try as best as I should. I hope though that you all still are interested in knowing what's going on because I really want you all to still be a part of my life!
There's quite a few friends and family that I'm sending this letter/message to so as you can see I have a lot of people that are dear to me. You all in some way or another have made an impact on my life and I can't help but to be so grateful to God for each of you. Some times I find myself reflecting on my life growing up and I remember the people that have played some type of important role in the gifts the Lord is using now. Even little things and words that you all did to encourage me and show your genuine care and love for me shows me that God had His sovereign hand on me. He protected me and showed me His love for me through each of you. You all had a significant part on me knowing the truth of God's incomprehensible love and that to me is priceless. I can't thank you all enough for your obedience to God because that is why it impacted me so much. You were where you were supposed to be for such a time as that. By doing so you've impacted one girl who is now 20 years old and on her way to impacting many others in Jesus’ Name.
I’d love to share what good things you’ve influenced on my heart. Missions is definitely something that God has given me a heart and love for. This song says a lot about what’s on this 20 year old woman’s heart if you want to know a little bit of what she’s feeling for this world. It’s called “Tears of the Saints” by Leeland. In the chorus it talks about children picking up the crippled men. The Lord has given me a love for children and seeing them love God has captured my heart! Seeing such innocent hearts love the Lord is breath-taking and I feel the Lord wants to use me to lead children to Him to lead others to Him as well. I’ve learned this can be a very strategic way to win souls because these children influence more than they realize! I’m so excited to see what kids the Lord will have me minister to. Whether it be in Europe or South America or both I don’t know, but I ask that you pray that God would show me where He wants me to go.
It’s been many years that I’ve waited for the Lord to show me the place(s) He wants me to travel to because as many of you know I have felt the call of God to travel out of the United States long-term to bring the Good News to those who are in desperate need of salvation. I know this current season the Lord wants to use to train and prepare me for doing all the above and God-willing much more.
Being here at the Honor Academy has been such a tremendously wonderful tool that God has used to prepare and teach me for preparing His Second Coming. He has placed even more influential leaders here that have also played a huge part in sparking this desire God has given me. They’ve played a part in reminding and confirming things that many of you has spoken to me in Jesus’ Name. It’s amazing to see God put pieces of the puzzle together in my life by being here and how I can help others to see His faithfulness as well.
I would love to invite you all to be a part of helping me finish this year at the Honor Academy of being an impact on the women God’s entrusted me with this year. I have a monthly tuition of $450. In total I have $1,800 (including personal expenses) left for this year (four months.) If 30 people donate $60 it will all be paid for. I currently need $286 as soon as possible (by Thursday morning preferably) or I will have to leave. I ask that you would prayerfully consider being a help in this time. Please pray the Lord will provide as He always has. If the Lord does give you the desire to donate please e-mail me at Ileana.delagarza@teenmania.com or call me at 210-739-3727. If you’d like to pay online it’s very simple. Go to www.honoracademy.com and click donate. You will then need to input my ID number which is #2521636. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
I am so thankful for each of you. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I truly appreciate your time. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I will be more than glad to talk to you! May the grace of the Lord be with all of you and once again thank you so much for allowing God to use you to place seeds in my life that are now growing to glorify Him. Have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Ileana De La Garza
